My Story
Hi, I’m Carly, the creative designer behind Flamingo Street Designs. We specialize in custom wreaths, swags and machine embroidery for many occasions and seasons.
I have always loved crafting and decorating since I was a little girl. I grew up in a family of farmers and creators who taught me the value of quality & creativity. Sometimes making something out of nothing was the most creative and fun thing to do.
We started Flamingo Street Designs in 2023 to share my passion and skills with others. As we started this business, I found out during a routine exam that I had the dreaded ugly disease of breast cancer, which put us back awhile to really getting into creating again. And, with a new outlook on life, we hope you enjoy following the creative designs we make for years to come.
Our goal is to create beautiful and unique pieces that will make your home or business more festive and inviting. We work with high-quality materials like artificial flowers, natural grapevines, greenery, ribbons, and fabrics.
Embroidery & wreath making are more than just a business to me. They are a way to bring some sparkle to the entrance of your home, your business, something you love seeing in your home, or a gift for someone special. They are ways of connecting with my local city and make new friends along the way. To us it’s a way to bring a little or maybe a lot of happiness to someone’s day. And, if you are reading this, hopefully it can bring a little cheer to you as well. We enjoy bringing a project to life, whether it be flowers for your door or a fun embroidery design for your loved ones. It’s the little extras that bring joy to us all.

His Story
I’m Joe, Carly’s husband and best friend. We’ve known each other for 15 years, happily married for 14 of those years. Like Carly, I enjoy traveling and visiting places I’d dreamed about but never visited. I’m also a fan of outdoor fairs and festivals. I also consider myself an avid foodie, willing to try just about any dish you can imagine and some foods that most would never try.
Most of my careers have been in government, first two tours in the U.S. Army as a nurse and combat medic, a nurse for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, a career firefighter-paramedic, chief of training and fire chief, finally a safety, training and security officer for the Dept. of Homeland Security. In retirement I teach RV driving and manage the commercial division of RV Driving School.
I’m enthusiastically looking forward to going on the road to show and market some of my wife’s extraordinary and creative art.
Carly, although a school-trained graphics artist, has such natural creative talent that she constantly amazes me. Her compassion for making things that delight and please the eye is illustrated in every project she creates. Her studio and our home are filled with many examples of her extraordinary artistic works.
Our Story
We met about 15 years ago in Orlando, Florida, quickly became friends and fell in love. Our shared passion for design and creativity brought us together, and we soon realized that we had a lot in common. After a few years, we decided to move to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where we both fell in love with the beautiful scenery and relaxed lifestyle. It was here that we decided to start Flamingo Street Designs, a business that would allow us to combine our love of design with our business background.
